In Australia, Galahs are considered one of the hardiest parrots, they are also very independent and small as cockatoos go. During breeding and baby rearing season of the pair, my single boy lived half the year with us in the house in a large cage with very little out time, he talks and cuddles and is a very easy-going pet. During the winter he lives next to the other 2 birds in the outdoor aviary and is perfectly happy there, whilst still talking to me and sitting on my shoulder while I clean.
*As of January 2017, he was introduced to an immature female that was bred at Capricorn Ranch (unrelated). She will be mature in spring of 2019 and hopefully they will become a bonded pair.
